Software Engineering Manager

Homebot drives repeat and referral business to our customers through our personalized financial dashboards.

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented Engineers who build amazing products for our customers.

This is a full-time position based in our Denver, CO office. (We have a hybrid work model in place that allows employees to split their time between working in-office and from home a few days a week.)

Compensation: We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary. This role has an annual targeted base salary range of $165,000 - $195,000, plus an annual 10% performance bonus target. You will also be eligible to participate in Homebot’s Equity Appreciation Rights Program. What You’ll Be Accountable For as a Manager:

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions
  • Manage team hiring, onboarding, and growth
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee on-call rotations and incident management processes
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on team progress and challenges
  • Manage team budget and resource allocation
  • Build strong partnerships with product engineering teams and other stakeholders

The impact you’ll make by joining us:

Leadership Impact:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 engineers across Platform Engineering, DevOps, and SRE disciplines
  • Partner with Director of Engineering to develop technical strategy and roadmaps for infrastructure, developer experience, and platform reliability
  • Drive team performance through clear goal setting, regular feedback, and career development planning
  • Establish and maintain team working agreements, engineering standards, and operational practices
  • Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and project delivery while maintaining operational excellence
  • Build strong relationships across R&D organization to understand needs and align platform initiatives

Technical Leadership:

  • Maintain hands-on involvement in architecture decisions and technical direction
  • Actively participate in code and design reviews
  • Contribute to critical projects through direct development when needed
  • Guide implementation of best practices in infrastructure, security, and developer tooling
  • Balance technical debt, feature development, and operational stability
  • Drive continuous improvement in deployment processes, monitoring, and incident response
  • Ensure maintenance of SOC2 controls and compliance requirements



Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with focus on infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience
  • Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD, and developer tooling
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and modern deployment practices
  • Track record of delivering large-scale technical initiatives
  • Background in developing internal platforms and developer experience improvements
  • Experience managing teams in a high-growth environment

Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK)
    • Container orchestration (Kubernetes)
    • Programming languages (Go, Python, or similar)
    • AWS services and architecture
    • CI/CD systems and automation
    • Observability and monitoring tools
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Ability to evaluate and adopt new technologies
